Methylcobalamin Research
A synthetic and active form of B12 that can cross the blood brain barrier without biotransformation. Methylcobalamin has been investigated in research in relation to B12 deficiency and its complications. B12 is necessary for hematopoiesis, neural metabolism, DNA and RNA production, and carbohydrate, fat, and protein metabolism. It has been shown in some studies improves iron function in the metabolic cycle and assist folic acid in choline synthesis. Its metabolism is interconnected with that of folic acid.
